We need ALL RACERS to complete the Event Release of Liability (ROL) for Alpine/Palisades Tahoe. If this form has not been completed, the racer will not be able to start. If in doubt or if you think you may already have signed, best to do it again to be sure as Alpine Meadows/Palisades will pull anyone from the start who is not on the ROL list.

IMPORTANT: NEW DRIVING RULES IN PLACE FOR THIS SEASON
It is important that we all understand the new rules in place for transportation this season. In the past, parents and driving-age kids were able to drive themselves to the away races. This has changed.
If the district is providing transportation to a race - usually either a bus, or district vans driven by coaches - then the following rules will apply:
If the district is providing transportation to a race - usually either a bus, or district vans driven by coaches - then the following rules will apply:
- If a student athlete has their license and wants to drive, we will need a letter of permission signed by a parent. Student athlete can then drive only themselves and NO OTHER ATHLETES. See letter below.
- If a parent wants to drive their own child to the race, they may do so, but cannot drive any other athletes, even if the other parents have given permission. UNLESS...
- If a parent wants to drive more athletes than their own child/children, they may sign on as an "Unsupervised Volunteer" and go through the process required by TTUSD. See more information below.
Parent Permission Letter:
To whom it may concern,
I, ________________, am the parent of ______________. I give my student permission to drive him/herself to and from the ski race on __________ (date), at ____________ (location).
I understand that there is transportation provided to and from this event, but ______________ (explain need to drive).
I also understand that my student is NOT allowed to drive others to or from this event even if the other parents are willing to have my student drive their student.
TTUSD is allowing this as an exception due to special circumstances and this permission slip is not valid for any other district event.
I assume all liability for anything that may happen as a result of my student driving to and from the event.
Sincerely,
Parent Signature

Unsupervised Volunteers
In order to drive your child and other team members, you may sign on as an "Unsupervised Volunteer" and should follow the following process as taken from the HR website:
Once your application has been routed through the appropriate channels, you’ll receive an email from a TTUSD HR employee to schedule an in-person clearance appointment at the District Office. At that appointment, they’ll explain the remainder of the process and provide the necessary paperwork. The remainder of the steps will include fingerprinting, TB risk assessment paperwork, and a few brief online trainings. All of this will be explained at the appointment with HR, and they’ll walk you through the remaining steps.
Fingerprinting and the TB risk assessment can both be completed in Truckee without appointments once you have the appropriate paperwork from HR. The fingerprinting will have a $20 rolling fee that the volunteer is responsible for. However, we don’t want this to be a barrier for any volunteers, so please contact your school site if you need financial assistance.
Upon completion of fingerprinting and submitting the TB risk assessment paperwork, we typically have results and clearance within a few days. At that point, you’ll receive an email to inform you of clearance.
If you have questions, you may call the HR Department at 530-582-2500 or email [email protected].
In order to drive your child and other team members, you may sign on as an "Unsupervised Volunteer" and should follow the following process as taken from the HR website:
- All unsupervised volunteers will be required to undergo a more robust process. Again, this is to ensure we comply with Education Code and is a measure to keep all students safe - one of our top priorities!
- Unsupervised volunteers will complete the IK12 Volunteer Clearance Application and select by title: "Volunteer Driver Own Vehicle"
- Complete all red boxes in the Volunteer Information section.
- For the “Supervisor” line, write the site at which you’re planning to volunteer.
- Volunteer Drivers need to attach proof of liability insurance at a minimum of $100,000 and a maximum of $300,000.
- Volunteer Drivers need to attach a 3 Year Driving Record that can be obtained online at California DMV for $2.
- Click the “Submit Form” button to route it to the appropriate school site administrator.
- If you get a pop-up box asking if you’re a site/department administrator, click no.
