EVENT BACKGROUND
The goal for this event is to bring together the top High School racers in the Western Half of the United States to compete for their State in a Championship format event, participating in GS and SL. The inaugural Western US High School Championships were held in March 2020 at Mammoth Mountain on the eve of the pandemic. States in attendance included California, Nevada, Oregon, and Wyoming.
Our league, Tahoe Basin Ski League, or the "Nevada-Lake" team, fielded a group of racers from several schools in our league, and we WON, becoming the first ever champions of this new event. In 2022, we came in second to Colorado, and last year we came in 5th. So, let’s get that title back! This year’s confirmed participants include us (“Nevada-Lake”), plus Nevada-Reno, California, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, Oregon, and Wyoming.
